The 12 laws of success
If you truly want to be successful in all areas of your life then you have to apply these 12 laws. In my previous blog vision and goals, I show you how to create a vision and set goals for holistic living. You have 8 areas of needs that need to be fulfilled daily and by applying these laws you can do just that. Go and read the blog here.
Law 1: Vision
God says in Proverbs 29:18 “where there is no vision, the people will perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”
What is the meaning of the word vision? A vision is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination and wisdom.
The reason billionaires become billionaires is that they have big visions for their future and they don’t allow anything to stop them.
Billionaires don’t settle for mediocrity and security, but instead, take risks and always see the glass overflowing with opportunity. Whereas the 98% sees the glass half empty.
When you finished school you were ready to set the world on fire because you were finally free. Then reality sets in and you realise that your income is way less than what your dreams costs. So instead of expanding your income, you take the dream of your dreams list and say “It’s not meant for me and its hard work to make a lot of money.” You settle for less and security, and your dreams just stay dreams.
Go out there and create a hairy, scary dream for your holistic self again! Dig deep and find out what you truly want from life again. Then the trick is to take action every day towards those dreams.
The problem with 98% of the population is that they aren’t willing to take action and they can’t see themselves achieving their dreams. Do you want to stay stuck where you are for the next 20-30 years? Or are you ready to set the world of fire?
It’s a choice you make every single day, choose wisely!
Law 2: Mindset
The difference between ordinary people who have day jobs and always feel that they have more month than money and the billionaires who get to choose on a daily basis what they do with each minute of the day, is
The way they think!
The rich people of this world think, act and make decisions way differently to 98% of the population. I don’t know about you, but I started asking myself what are they doing differently? They have the same 24hrs in a day as I do but they earn way more than me and they have time freedom. What am I doing wrong? That’s when I started to do research and boy has it been an amazing journey.
God says in Proverbs 23:7 KJV “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” Because what you think you speak, do and behave. God also says in Matthew 12:34 KJV “for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” If you think evil you, do evil and when you think good, you do well. I definitely choose to be with God and serve God because without Him we are nothing. You come into this world with nothing and you leave this world with nothing. You can’t take your early possessions with you.
When it comes to money 98% thinks their circumstances determine their success. They say things along the lines of rich people got lucky because they were born into rich families or they know the right people etc. Most rich people I know and have read about come from poor backgrounds and they are the most down to earth people I’ve ever met.
If you keep on saying to yourself “I am poor, I will never make money, it is too hard to make money, all beautiful women are bad and gold diggers, all men are cheaters and the list goes on.” Then that is what is coming into your life.
It’s never the circumstances that determine your success but how you CHOOSE to deal with those circumstances. So if your life is a mess then choose to change it. You are the only one that can!

Law 3: Value
What value can you bring into someone else’s life that will make all the difference in that person’s world?
God says in 1 Peter 4:10 “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God.”
We all have talents and skills and God expect us to serve each other by using those talents and skills and so you serve God directly.
The thing is the marketplace pays for value. So make yourself very valuable.
How do I do this you may ask?
You up-level your skills!
There are 3 skill sets that are vital in any industry.
- Professional skills.
This is the basics of your profession. Of example, if you are a photographer then you have to know all about the camera and equipment needed to get the perfect shot.
If you are lacking in this area then up-level your basic skills. To increase skills you have to invest, meaning you have to pay for the new knowledge you want to learn. This doesn’t mean you have to go to university and spend 3 years acquiring a new degree, it depends on your vision and what you want to achieve in life. There are many online courses that are 8-12 weeks long where you get to learn amazing new skills fast.
- People skills.
People buy from people. Have amazing people skills were you truly serve others without self-gain motives. These means don’t use people for your own personal gain. That is evil and God doesn’t promote that behaviour. You will just have failure coming your way. Be genuinely interested in other people and serve with a spirit of excellence. I always say do something and help someone as though you are doing it directly for God!
If you do this you will be unusually successful in all areas of your life.
Law 4: Sowing and reaping
Galatians 6:7-9 ”Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” This means that you can’t hide anything from God. He knows your heart and sees all you do. Don’t think for 1 second you can do evil without it coming back to you.
Instead, use this amazing law of God for doing good deeds in the world. Be the change you want to see.
Go and think on your current circumstances and do some deep introspection to find out what you have been sowing that is causing you to reap what you currently do. Most of the time you adopted beliefs from your childhood environment. You heard the beliefs of your family, your friends, your neighbours, your community etc. You then started believing it too and finally, you internalised it, adopted that same way of thinking and made it your own. You have rooted it so deeply that you now believe that it is just the way things are.
This causes the blame and victim mentality but back at the ranch you are doing it to yourself. Your financial trouble is your own fault. It’s choices you have made and are still making. “But I was born into a poor family and we didn’t have money for anything, so where must I get an advantage in life?”
Richard Branson never finished school. His teachers said that he will be good at nothing. Where is he today? He is a billionaire who owns his own island and has a thriving billion dollar company.
Stop making excuses and blaming your circumstances and start making wise decisions. If you don’t know how to do a thing, then learn from people who have done it and do what they do. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel just go and make the best decisions for your life and stop playing the victim.
Law 5: Desire
What is a desire?
A desire is a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.
We all have desires. You might desire more money, or the best partner, or well-behaved kids and even true success in all areas of your life. If you dig deep you will see that your true desires stem from your talents and gifts given by God.
The bird was designed to fly, so it has a desire to fly for all its needs. If the bird stops flying it will die. Just as a dolphin is designed to swim, so the dolphin desire to swim, survive and play. If it stops swimming it will eventually die.
The same goes for people. You have a desire to achieve something in life. Each person has his/her own desires. If you don’t pursue your true desires then you get stuck in a job that you hate. This causes anxiety, stress and eventually leads to depression. Or in some cases, you just feel lost and land up doing job hopping because you are not doing what you were designed for.
So the best thing you can do is self-development and truly find what you want to achieve in life. This will give you a new found zest for life.
Remember we are made in the image of God. He creates so you possess the same skill. Go and create your ultimate life.

Law 6: Be Teachable
Many people struggle with the ego trip of “I already know everything.” I learned early on in my life that you can always learn something new from someone. So always keep your ears on the ground and truly listen.
People who have what you want love to talk about their successes in life i.e. a happy wife and mother always talks about her amazing hubby and honourable kids. So instead of running her down and being a negative Nelly, find out what she is doing and do what she does. This will get you further in life faster. You can also learn for other’s mistakes and this helps you to not make the same mistakes they did.
So be teachable. You are where you are currently because you have to learn and grow. The more stubborn you are about it, the longer you are going to stay there.
Law 7: Forgiveness
In order to grow and move forward, you have to forgive on a daily basis. When you don’t forgive you allow your feelings to take over and rule your life. You become bitter and resent everything and everyone. Studies show that cancer is linked to negative emotions that have grown without stop. Be careful what you feed. Remember what you sow you will reap.
Forgiveness is such a freeing act. It’s like the whole world is lifted off your shoulders. And if you struggle to forgive you are on an ego trip. And to that I say…
How can you expect God to forgive you if you can’t forgive? Unforgiveness keeps you stuck and you will always experience failures.
Unforgiving people always turn back to the past and blame the past. What they don’t realise is that they are keeping themselves stuck in the same place until they die. Unforgiveness doesn’t hurt the other person but you hurt yourself because you have continuous resentment and bitterness. This makes you a very unhappy person to be around and you end up pushing everyone away around you.
Start forgiving today! And the best place to start is to forgive yourself first for your past mistakes. We all have mistakes and we all fail at something. Nothing is perfect in this world. God is the only sure perfect existence.
Free yourself from bondage and live life in abundance.
Law 8: Promotion
God will only promote you will more money, better relationships, better friendships etc. when you can be trusted with what He has given you already. The road to success often has obstacles that we don’t want to overcome because it seems difficult and we allow the ego to take charge, but ones you overcome those obstacles you look back and say that wasn’t so difficult.
The human brain overcomplicates things in an attempt to protect you. When something seems difficult and you don’t really want to do it, your brain kicks in and starts making up excuses and lies of why you shouldn’t do a certain thing. When this happens you should remember that it’s a conscious choice you are making right there and then.
A lot of the time you have to do things you don’t want to do, but do it with a spirit of excellence and diligence. You will reap the rewards later. All you have to do is start where you are, even if it’s something small i.e. looking people in the eye and smile when you pass them.
Law 9: Focus
Whatever you focus on you get good at. No new skill just magically appear.
I’m sure you have heard of the saying practice makes perfect. And that’s exactly it. Find out what you want to change in your life and focus on it! For example, if you want a fun, sexy happy marriage find out what needs to change and focus on those changes every day. The same goes for all 8 areas of the holistic life.
To make things faster get help from someone that has experience in what you want to achieve. This helps you achieve it faster because you have the right assistance. This is usually through coaching. Coaching is super powerful, as your coach will help keep you on track, especially when you lose focus.
Many times you keep yourself back because of fears and your ego. So to have that one person there that wants you to succeed just as much as you do, just pushes you and guides you back to the right focus point.
Your focus should be serving people. People buy from people. Make sure you serve with a spirit of excellence and your life and business will be unusually successful. Make it all about your clients and what results you get for them and in return money will flow.
Law 10: Honour
Every person on this planet wants to feel special and appreciated. And I don’t mean the fake type of relationships people have these days so that they gain something from it in the long run. I mean you genuinely are happy for other people’s success, you only speak well and good things about others. You are genuinely interested in the other person.
One of the 10 commandments is to love thy neighbour as thyself. Ones you fully learn this new skill you serve God directly.
By doing this you are a leader and example in your line of work. People will come to you for advice and help. You will always have loyal clients and best of all they will honour you through promoting your services or products to others. People are emotional beings and they go where they feel appreciated. So make sure to honour and you will be honoured.
Law 11: Decisions
When you look back in your life, your present circumstances are a direct result of decisions from your past. God has given every single person on this earth total free will.
I made a decision to change my current circumstances instead of complaining about my work and life. My circumstances didn’t change overnight, but one thing changed. And that was the decision to change my life so that I have more time freedom to spend with my kids and do what I want with my time. I made the decision to do whatever it take s to change my life and live it according to my vision.
What are you waiting for? Just choose and pursue it with all your heart!
Law 12: Action
When you truly know what you want in life you will automatically make a decision to achieve it and what follows is action!
Action leads to success!
But the biggest mistakes people make is that they want instant success and there is no such thing. Don’t make the same mistake. Growing and changing your life take courage, persistence, consistency, and action daily.
When you are so clear on your WHY you make decisions every day that will bring you one step closer to reaching your dreams and living your vision.
So I’m here to say embrace the struggle and the journey because you are on the road to becoming the best YOU can be and best of all you will serve our Mighty Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the Father in heaven.
I learned these laws from Dani Johnson and started implementing it daily. You can too. just start!
